Great Things Seen & Heard

  • Thank you to so many teachers and EA’s who covered absent staff last week!
  • Staff member corrected a student for swearing in the hallway and is later caught swearing herself by the same student!
  • Grade 10 student has already finished Science 14 & Science 24 courses this semester and seems to be starting a trend with other students asking to do the same.
  • Student tells teacher she can run her dog today because it’s beautiful out!
  • Overheard: We don’t want to solicit parents, just funds.
  • Our sports students have been bringing tea in from hotels to supply a classroom known for casual tea time!
  • The competitive spirit is kicking in for food bank donations.
  • Division Office was reported to have better toilet paper than our school!
  • Checking bathroom ceiling tiles: we have to be Y’s for the boys’ room, but we’re wise!
  • Recent discovery: a secret room for playing tricks on washroom loiterers… all we need is a remotely controlled speaker system!

  • Food Drive Competition begins this week, from November 28th to December 9th.
  • Wellness Week will be the week of December 5th to December 9th: visitors come on Friday.
  • Teachers’ Convention schedule site opens on December 5th.
  • Calendar Committee with HPSD meets on December 5th, so please give me your ideas.
  • CTS collaboration with HPSD on December 5th.
  • Next regular CRT meeting on December 6th at 3:40 PM (Literacy Goals).
  • Numeracy Committee HPSD Collaboration all day on December 6th (SM and JoG).
  • PE collaboration with HPSD on December 6th (after school).
  • BUGM for teachers (ATA) by Zoom at 6:00 PM on December 6th.
  • Admin Virtual PD in morning of December 7th.
  • Video recording with KN from LSC in morning of December 8th.
  • Report to the School Board in morning of December 8th (all trustees in our school).
  • Prairie River will be using our school gym on December 10th.
  • Christmas breakfast at EWP on December 14th.
  • Christmas lunch at PVO on December 14th.
  • Christmas vacation begins on December 17th.
  • After our Christmas break, we return to school on January 3rd.
  • Semester One marks on the report card plus the plan for Semester Two determine grad list placement (Grad on Saturday, June 10th).
