Great Things Seen & Heard

  • One of our students will be competing at the Arctic Winter Games this week!
  • A student’s great great grandfather is Kootenay Brown!
  • Misread “corn” based as “com” based and thought it was a new dietary restriction!
  • Teacher said that terra cotta warriors were made of baked clay, and then learned that was the meaning of terra cotta!

Bits & Pieces

  • Collaboration time in the morning of PD day to discuss school culture, accommodations, honour roll, and credit recovery after introductions and calendar question for 2023-24 .
  • Gym closed to non-PE students at all times except for lunch.
  • Semester One marks on the report card plus the plan for Semester Two determine grad list placement (Grad on Saturday, June 10th).

  • Monday, January 30th: PD Day — Introductions, calendar question, and collaboration in Room 141 at 9:00 AM.
  • Monday, January 30th: CB, KM, JN, and CW away all day.
  • Monday, January 30th: PD Day — Double IEC sessions (November plus January) at 1:00 PM.
  • Tuesday, January 31st: Semester Two begins with a quick Assembly in Gym (timetables passed out at the end).
  • Tuesday, January 31st: GS returns from medical leave. (YAY!)
  • Tuesday, January 31st: Hot Lunch is Pulled Pork Bun with Veggies and Dip
  • Tuesday, January 31st: Semester One report cards emailed home at end of day.
  • Wednesday, February 1st: Administrators’ PD in morning (9:00 AM to noon).
  • Wednesday, February 1st: CB, JeG, and NS away all day.
  • Wednesday, February 1st: Hot Lunch is Pizza Sub with Fruit.
  • Wednesday, February 1st: PVO students go skating.
