Great Things Seen & Heard   

  • We thought it was funny that our ATA rep was no longer an ATA member but then she discovered all HPSD teachers were accidentally knocked off the membership records. Good thing our rep is on the ball!
  • We learned why students going to Boondocks for lunch are always late for Block 3 classes!
  • Our enrolment is up by 24 students since the end of June. We are squeezing students in!

Clips & Tips

Overhearing a discussion lately led to doing a little research on this topic. Although calling positivity toxic seemed oxymoronic, there is logic behind the thinking. Nonetheless, the idea of labelling any opinion that differs from one’s own as “shaming” (as does this article) is worth a deep discussion on its own. Take a look here:

  • September 12th: AGM School Council at 7:00 PM.
  • September 14th: AGM Parent Society at 7:00 PM.
  • September 14th: Tentative outing (Medicine Walk) for PVO students.
  • September 18th: First regular biweekly meeting after school.
  • September 19th: School Division PD Committee meeting after school.
  • September 20th: EWP/PVO Open House (Parent Night) at 5:00 PM.
  • September 20th: ELAA evening open house 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in gym.
  • September 22nd: Division-wide PD Day hosted at EW Pratt.
  • September 26th-28th: tentative dates for Wade Sorochan presentations (students and parents).
  • September 27th: Administrative Association meeting in morning.

Events This Week

  • Monday, September 4th: Labour Day.
  • Tuesday, September 5th: Please check the staff parking lot is complete before parking in it.
  • Tuesday, September 5th: Rainy Day plan instead of Bay Day (90% chance of 5-10mm and cold).
  • Tuesday, September 5th: We welcome all new Grade 10 students and new students to school.
  • Tuesday, September 5th: Morning starts with all students briefly in gym.
  • Tuesday, September 5th: JN away all day.
  • Tuesday, September 5th: Hot Dog Lunch for everyone.
  • Tuesday, September 5th: Volleyball practice after school (they set up mats and chairs).
  • Wednesday, September 6th: First day of school for entire student body.
  • Wednesday, September 6th: Morning starts with Assembly in gym (seated on chairs).
  • Wednesday, September 6th: JP away all day.
  • Wednesday, September 6th: Volleyball practice after school.
  • Thursday, September 7th: Superintendent visits EWP.
  • Thursday, September 6th: Volleyball practice after school.
  • Friday, September 8th: JA and EV away all day.
  • Friday, September 8th: Volleyball trip to Spirit River overnight (leave at 1PM).
  • Friday, September 8th: First home game for football team. Come out and cheer!
