Great Things Seen & Heard

  • Four students wandered into school after skipping Block 3 to find the school was empty! Were they ever surprised to hear buses were sent home early, and even more disappointed when we sent them to class to catch up on work.
  • A Grade 12 student asked for his mark, and when he heard it was 25%, he was surprised it’s so high!
  • A shy Grade 10 student who never talks to his peers said he’d like a bag of chips and his classmates brought him some from the store. How sweet of them!
  • Student tells others that their teacher makes Finance more fun than it should be. Way to go, FS!

Bits & Pieces

  • Our two new teacher, JG , starts next Monday while SM starts on Tuesday. Welcome aboard!
  • Classroom renovations are now underway. We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we cycle classes through the process.
  • News: students have permission to transfer between EWP/PVO and St. Andrews without special permission if they register before January 31st, 2022.
  • January PD Wellness Day on January 31st, 2022
  • Report cards go home on January 31st, 2022
  • New semester begins on February 1st, 2022
  • Insurance team visiting our school at noon on February 8th, 2022.
  • We are double-booked for the PD Day on February 9th, 2022 so we will wait confirmation from both sets of organizers. The two possibilities are a Blanket Exercise and a Poverty Simulation. If guidelines don’t change, we could end up with neither.
  • Teachers’ Convention is on February 10th and 11th.

Great Things Seen & Heard

  • Oversight: someone saw CB’s email about the basketball roster and thought it was about a Rooster and Hens!
  • Substitute teacher got a real workout on Friday: she was chasing down people in JC Park (very fast people) and it turned out they were not her students!

  • Our IEC is looking for any interested students to join a smudge keepers group.
  • Our IEC is also looking for students who want to be active leaders with Youth Council for Reconciliation (YCR).
