  • We have already built connections with many new students!

  • New way to save money at our school: if something breaks, print a new one with a 3-D printer like one of our teachers did with a broken keyboard foot!

  • Try not to eat with your mouth full…
  • If you hear a honk, duck as it may be followed by a can of bug spray coming over the fence!
  • After a week on the job site, a student came back to tell a teacher that those marks on the tape measure actually mean something!
  • Student said she doesn’t know if her teacher said such-and-such because she never listens to him when he talks.
  • Student expressed concern that she would fail her diploma exam because she forgot to put her address on the answer booklet.

  • Congratulations to TR for his appointment as School Principal at Prairie River Junior High!
  • If you don’t want a sunburn on your teeth, try brushing them with sunscreen!
  • 44% of students writing the Diploma exam on the first day incorrectly wrote their mailing address.
  • A teacher spontaneously created a new Pink Floyd song, singing, “We don’t need no pro-creation…”
  • Two teachers received compliments from a mother, who said that they saved her son!

  • With so many staff members going over the top to help our graduating students, our 2022 Graduation Ceremony was a huge success! Thank you for all you did to make it happen!
  • Walking with scenery to look at is not only a pleasant pastime, but is also a good way to overcome a boring conversation!
  • You know it is teacher brain-fuzz time of year when a teacher admits to talking to a mannequin in a Slave Lake store! (Always better to ask a real person when you need help finding something…)

  • Our amazing students outperformed all other provincial school’s at the Provincial Track Meet in Medicine Hat on the weekend!
  • One of our rodeo cowboys, OP, won and is heading to Nationals in Wyoming!
  • A teacher was offered a safer solution to having her brakes checked at the garage: the student’s dad would do it in exchange for a mickey and a couple packs of smokes!
  • A student rediscovered that writing an essay is like a hamburger (as learned in Grade 2)!
  • Proposal writing frenzy: students offer to write a proposal just like that other student when denied permission for a treat!
  • Walking with scenery to look at sounds like a pleasant pastime…
  • A student shares that he did not fall for peer-pressure to use drugs, but fell into peer-pressure for playing mini-golf!

  • Our exceptional staff made our Open House BBQ a huge success! What awesome people we have at our school!
  • On “Dress Like a Teacher” day, one student said he was dressed as that drippy guy, but he wasn’t dressed like anyone we know!
  • We heard that some of the seniors live to see our SS teacher run by with her dog: the highlight of their day!
  • We witnessed a teacher wearing Wonder Woman socks to get more students to hand in assignments!
  • What’s heard is not always that same as what’s said: cut gloves turned into “a golf club” while a teacher’s name turned into “a ticket to induction!”
  • To separate two smooching students in class, one student told them to keep room for the principal!
  • Students brought condolence gifts to an avid Calgary Flames fan staff member after the Oilers won!

  • Congratulations on receiving long-service awards, to JA, AL, and SO!
  • A student says it is enough of a reward just to participate in Spirit Days!
  • Two different people considered our own CB hot two times in the same day!
  • Speculation from a student that anyone who holds the responsibility of a school principal must surely have partied hard in high school, as you cannot simply develop that sense of responsibility overnight: you have to overcome irresponsibility first!
  • Wanted: an English teacher who could teach a boy the entire English 30 course in two weeks or less! We have the name to call for any interested applicants…
  • A student asked his teacher if he would be comfortable calling him “Lightning” from now on!
  • After hearing his Foods teacher will be working on a Masters’ of Education in Home Economics in the fall, a student tells her that would be a huge disappointment to his parents if they were her parents! Congratulations on your acceptance into the program, NS!
