  • Students that had been reported with zero or close to zero attendance have now been withdrawn from classes after three contact attempts plus two letters. Thank you for keeping records in Maplewood so that we can act in good faith!   
  • Monday Morning assembly at 9:15 AM to catch latecomers; purpose is to review our standards for main doors, hall passes outside during class time, bathrooms limited to 2 people each, no lockers during class, no phones in class, and anything else people add before that time.
  • The Google form for parents to choose PTI time slots has been shared with teachers, with KJ, and with CB—not many have registered, so please plan on making some positive phone calls.
  • We would like your phone log by email, but paper will do if it’s more convenient for you.

  • Outdoor Learning Day Camp in our school yard: do not be alarmed if you see a fire out in the yard!

  • Daylight Saving Time begins on March 14th. Spring Forward, so prepare to lose an hour of sleep!
  • We had a final 88% of Grad student participation in our questionnaire.
  • We were waiting for confirmation of the dates for Grad photos in our school, we received notice of cessation of service by the photographer’s company instead. Back to the drawing board!

Bits & Pieces

  • Reminder to put notes in Maplewood whenever you contact parents, but especially when you contact regarding excessive absence from your class.
  • Parents of Grade 12 students have had a form to fill out regarding Grad. Results will be shared soon.
  • In next week’s team meetings (March 8th), we will determine which students represent the five greatest learning needs in our classes and look over the playbooks of strategic plans for meeting those needs. Teams will have to ensure the strategies are indeed classroom strategies.
  • At our March 12th PD Day, we will be discussing what we want for the new Pratt, choosing PTI dates for Term 2 (plus 2 hours from January), discussing what are our expectations of streaming, and then our indigenous PD will be at 1:00 PM.
