Great Things Seen & Heard

  • A glowing report was received from a school bus driver regarding how exceptional our basketball teams’ coaches and students. Way to go!
  • When a student offered brownies to the teacher, the teacher asked if they were weed brownies before taking a bite!
  • Student said his mom didn’t raise him to be rude and apologized for his behaviour the other day. That was so heartwarming!
  • A mentorship student was thrilled to be included in the class photo over at the Elementary school.
  • The highlight of a student’s day was heard to be “going to jail.” Fortunately, that was in reference to playing with Kindergarten students!

  • Mid-term report cards go home on April 19th.
  • Grades 10 & 11 course selection in room 141 on April 19th.
  • Grade 9 open house at 6:30 PM on April 20th.
  • LST meeting day on April 20th.
  • Wear your awesome socks for Spirit Day on April 21st.
  • Virtual PTI (by Google phone) from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on April 21st.
  • Hand Games Tournament at PRS on April 21st.
  • On April 22nd, ELAA with 15 visitors representing post-secondary institutions come in from 9 to 11.
  • Grad Photo Retake day on April 25th.
  • April 27th, introduction to Haspara (TR and PL away all day)
  • Blanket Exercise on PD Day, April 29th for new staff and those desiring to partake.
  • On PD Day, April 29th, ATA Workshop on winning strategies and FASD at 1:00 PM.

Events This Week

  • Monday, April 11th: All CTS modules should be set up in Maplewood for teachers by now.
  • Monday, April 11th: Hot Lunch is Turkey and Swiss Sandwich with veggies and dip.
  • Monday, April 11th: Regular bi-weekly CRM meeting, starting together in Rm 141 to discuss testing.
  • Tuesday, April 12th: Youth Council for Reconciliation at 11:30 AM for all students interested in moving reconciliation forward in our schools, lunch provided.
  • Tuesday, April 12th: Hot Lunch is Pulled Pork on a bun with coleslaw.
  • Tuesday, April 12th: TR, PL, and EV meet AT’s parents after school.
  • Wednesday, April 13th: All report card marks should be entered by 8:30 AM.
  • Wednesday, April 13th: B1, handgame coach visits PE class.
  • Wednesday, April 13th: B2, handgame instruction for the team, EV, and CG
  • Wednesday, April 13th: Hot Lunch is Chicken Noodle Soup and a Bun.
  • Wednesday, April 13th: EWP Supernet servicing today after school (tech arrives at 3:00 PM).
  • Wednesday, April 13th: BBQ committee meeting after school (making decisions).
  • Thursday, April 14th: Wear something to identify your Future Career for Spirit Day
  • Thursday, April 14th: Hot Lunch is Beef Stir Fry with Rice.
  • Friday, April 15th: Good Friday, so no school.

Great Things Seen & Heard

  • When a teacher said our EA is no longer with us meaning the EA was working in another class, a student thought that meant the EA had passed away. Oops!
  • Our hot lunch cooks from last year were thrilled with their Chargers aprons!
  • Our secretary stand-in had a counterfeit call from a Mooshum asking a student to leave school early, but when asked why the voice sounded so young, the caller hung up.
  • A student tried to sneak past TR who was looking at his phone in the entry foyer, but CB hollered at him and he had to come into the office to call his mother.
  • A student was alarmed that there were the same “two old men” sitting outside in the student parking area every day at the same time, but it turned out that it was a student’s great-grandpa with his driver coming to pick up another student!
  • Parents of students are coming forward to let us know their child feels an adult in our school is on their side. Way to go, team!
  • A student called one of our teachers a “small woman child.” Please interpret if you can!
  • A student’s April Fool’s joke was that she was not returning to school now that she turned 18!
  • Our students performed very well at the badminton tournament on Saturday! Many medals!
